Karen's Headboards started when I was looking for a fun, unusual and interesting child's headboard for my little girl's first bed. With a lack of children's headboards available, I started sketching and then made the first prototypes in the family business work shop. Much to the delight of my little girl, Karen's Headboards was born, and she had a brand new bed.

Coming from a family heritage of furniture upholstery, and with a degree in furniture design, I had a little head start. However, when I first showed the designs to my dad, an experienced upholsterer of some 38 years, he thought I was mad. I persisted despite the challenges of starting a new business and juggling three children under six and a new puppy! Finally after many months of perfecting the exact shapes and designs I wanted, and dad's experienced eye too, I created my first collection for Karen's Headboards.

I'm so excited that my children's headboard collection is now available to you. For all you mums and dads who are looking for that something a little different to make their child's bedroom special, then please take a look.
