ABOUT US!

In 1983.....

...Husband and Wife team Paul and Susan Tierney opened a tiny shop in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, with a definite idea to always offer quality products and to provide a service to customers which is second to none. This idea was to be the start of the events which have resulted in the name 'Tierney's' being synonymous with high quality, handmade toys, gifts and Dolls Houses. Through the years this family business has grown in strength from a workforce of 2 founder members, to one consisting of retail staff, packing staff, dollshouse decorators, machinists, spray painters, lighting and interior design experts, and trainee toymakers.

In 1998??

for many years it had always been our plan to operate the business from one site with manufacturing, office, retail and parking facilities all together in a prime location. We finally came to the conclusion that this could only be achieved by taking a virgin site and developing the building to our own requirements. In 1998 we acquired a derelict woollen mill in Dewsbury with on-site parking. Whilst the location was perfect, many thousands of pounds had to be spent on re-development to obtain our goal.

In 2000??

newly graduated daughter Louise Tierney joined the company having worked part time in our retail shop since the age of 13. Louise was appointed sales director in January 2003.
